Urgent – 400 Christian Families flee from Mosul

Nineveh (IraqiNews.com) More than 400 Christian families have departed Qara Qoush city of eastern Mosul heading towards Kurdistan Region after starting of heavy clashes between the Kurdish Peshmerga forces and the terrorist elements of the Islamic State in Iraq and Levant.

The Mayor of Hamdaniya District Nisan Karoumi told IraqiNews.com “More than 400 families have fled form Qara Qoush city towards Kurdistan Region when clashes started in the city and falling of mortar shells on the district of Hamdaniya.”

Karoumi added “Six civilians have been wounded due to falling of seven mortar shells on Hamdaniya district which also caused material damage for the houses.”

“The Peshmerga still control the situation in Hamdaniya district,” he concluded.
