US medical team for heart surgeries leaves Nasiriyah because of non-payment of financial dues

(IraqiNews.com) Health and Environment Committee in Dhi Qar province announced Monday, that the US medical team specialized for congenital heart defects operations has left the country because their financial dues were not paid, demanding the Ministry of Health to pay their dues to solve this problem.

Committee Chairman Ali Ghalibi informed IraqiNews.com, “The American medical team hired by Dhi Qar Department Health to work at the Nasiriyah Heart Center to perform advanced medical operations for children suffering congenital heart deformities, has recently left for its country,” attributing the cause to “non-payment of contracted financial dues.”

Ghalibi stated, “The team conducted more than 300 surgeries for patients in Dhi Qar province and other provinces,” adding that, “The team contributed in enhancing the efficiency of the Iraqi staff and workers in the cardiac surgery center.”

Ghalibi demanded the Ministry of Health to “pay attention this important and sensitive matter and to solve the problem by paying their financial dues.”
