Wardi holds Iraqi Government responsible for deporting Iraqi refugees abroad

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Head of Parliamentary Migration and Immigration Committee, MP Liqa Wardi, reported that “The Iraqi Government is responsible for the deportation of Iraqi refugees from some European countries.”

Wardi stated to IraqiNews.com that “Some of the Iraqi embassies abroad declare to foreign countries that Iraq witnesses stable security situation and it is prepared to receive Iraqi refugees who are living in their countries,” noting that “Iraq is not prepared to accomodate these returning refugees.”

MP Wardi of the Iraqiya Slate demanded to impose financial fines on the transportation companies which transport the Iraqi refugees into Iraq.

Wardi pointed out that “She has presented a suggestion to the Parliament to impose financial fines on the companies which transport the Iraqi refugees into Iraq, but the Parliament demanded to redraft this suggestion.”

According to the statistics of the General Federation of Iraqi refugees, about 5500 Kurdish refugees have been forced to return from foreign countries into Kurdistan Region.

Since the beginning of 2011 the European countries have returned about 700 Iraqi refugees to Iraq most of them are from the disputed areas.
