10 killed, 33 injured in series of blasts in Salah al-Din

SALAH AL-DIN / IraqiNews.com: Four car bombs exploded in separate areas in Salah al-Din province on Thursday morning, killing ten and injuring 33. “Four car bombs went off simultaneously on the wee small hours on Thursday in al-Dujail, Baiji and Balad regions in Salah al-Din, killing 10 and wounding 33,” IraqiNews.com news agency correspondent said. “The first blast took place in al-Dujail district at 7:30am, killing one and wounding four, while the second car exploded near Baiji court in central Salah al-Din at 8:00am, killing three and injuring 5.The third blast occurred near Balad police station, leaving 26 casualties, including six dead.The fourth explosion took place near an office of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, where four people were wounded,” he explained. “Colonel Mohammad Yassin from the Balad police station was wounded in the attack,” a police source said. Security authorities announced a curfew in Tikrit, Balad and Baiji, while security forces prevented citizens from leaving or entering the city. SH (TI)/SR 937
