1000 demonstrators demand to get salaries in Diyala

(IraqiNews.com) The people of Diyala province held protests to demand getting their salaries of the last five months.

An informed official in Diyala province said to IraqiNews.com, “The people of Diyala province came out in demonstrations in Khalis district, demanding local and central governments to pay their salaries, which have been delayed for the last five months.”

The source, who requested not to be named, added,“Demonstrators threatened to cut off the main roads in Diyala, especially the one that connects the center of the province with the capital Baghdad if the central government did not respond to their demands.
