11 casualties reported as IED explodes in southern Baghdad

( Baghdad – On Tuesday, Iraqi Ministry of defense stated about the casualties received by eleven (11) in an explosion caused by an improvised explosive device in southern Baghdad.

In a press statement, a copy of which was obtained by Iraqi News, the ministry stated, “An improvised explosive device exploded at noon today near a popular market at al-wehda neighborhood in southern Baghdad, killing two people and injuring nine others.”

The statement further added, “Security forces rushed to the incident area and shifted the injured to a nearby hospital for further  medical treatment and the bodies of the deceased were sent to the forensic department.”
