18 people killed, 52 injured in Diyala Bridge explosions

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Interior Ministry announced Tuesday that 18 people have been killed and 52 others were injured in Diyala Bridge bombings southeast of Baghdad.

Interior Ministry spokesman Brigadier General Saad Maan said in an interview for IraqiNews.com “On Thursday evening, a car bomb exploded behind the fire department in the Diyala Bridge area southeast of Baghdad, followed shortly by a suicide bomber wearing an explosive belt blowing himself up near the Education Directorate building.”

“The number of causalities now amounts to 18 dead and 52 wounded,” Maan added.

A security source said on Tuesday evening, that a number of people have been killed and wounded in the explosion of two car bombs in Diyala Bridge area southeast of Baghdad.
