2 al-Naqshabandiya group elements nabbed in Makhmour

NINEWA /Iraqi News Iraqi army forces arrested on Wednesday two al-Naqshabandiya group elements in Makhmour district in Ninewa, an army source said. “The forces arrested on Wednesday (March 17) two elements of al-Naqshabandiya armed group near al-Senaa region in west of Makhmour,” the source told Iraqi News. “The operation was launched in light of intelligence information,” he added. Al-Naqshabandiya is a group that introduces itself as an Islamic spiritual dogmatic organization, but its ideologies changed into ones of armed struggle against the occupation forces. Makhmour is one of the disputed areas between the central government in Baghdad and the Kurdistan Regional Government Kurdistan RegionG). It is administratively affiliated with Ninewa province and lies 63 km southwest of Arbil, the capital city of Kurdistan, which is 362 km northeast of Baghdad. SH (P) 1
