2 blasts kill, injure 9 soldiers in Jalawlaa

DIALA / IraqiNews.com: Six Iraqi army soldiers were killed and three others were wounded on Thursday in two explosions in southern Jalawlaa, a police source said. “Two bombs went off on Thursday (Jan. 8) targeting two Iraqi army’s Hummers near Tabaj region in southern Jalawlaa, killing six soldiers and injuring three,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. “Police and army forces cordoned off the region, while wounded were rushed to the Jalawlaa hospital for treatment,” he added. Jalawlaa is one of the disputed areas between the federal and Kurdish governments. It is located 155 northeast of Baaquba, the capital of Diala, which is 57 km northeast of Baghdad. SH (S) 1
