2 gangs busted in Basra

BASRA / IraqiNews.com: Two robbing and stealing gangs were arrested in different areas of Basra on Sunday, according to the province’s police chief. “Basra police forces arrested two gang, one of them composed of three persons who confessed to have stolen 150 motorbikes,” Maj. General Adel Dahham told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The second gang, composed of four persons, is involved in several armed robberies and confessed to having robbed 20 houses,” he added. The oil-rich port city of Basra, Iraq’s only outlet to waterways, lies 590 km south of the Iraqi capital Baghdad. AmR (P) 1
