2 policemen wounded in blast north of Kirkuk

KIRKUK / IraqiNews.com: Two policemen were wounded in a blast from an improvised explosive device (IED) that targeted their vehicle north of Kirkuk city on Thursday, a local security source said. “An IED blast targeted a police vehicle near a fuel station north of Kirkuk, leaving two policemen, one of them an officer, wounded,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The explosion also caused damage to the vehicle,” he added. The source did not give further details about the incident. The oil-rich Kirkuk, a city of mixed Arab, Kurdish and Turkmen population, lies 250 km north of the Iraqi capital Baghdad. AmR (P) 1
