2 wanted men arrested, bomb defused in Mosul

Ninewa-Wanted NINEWA / IraqiNews.com: An Iraqi army force arrested two wanted men, while police forces managed to defuse a bomb and found an unknown body in separate incidents in Mosul, a security source said. “A force from the 2 nd division of the Iraqi army arrested two wanted men during a crackdown operation in al-Jazaer neighborhood in eastern Mosul,” the source told IraqiNews.com. “A police force managed today to defuse a bomb placed under al-Jisr al-Khames bridge in western Mosul,” he added. “Policemen found today unknown body, bore signs of gunshot wounds to the head and the chest, in al-Nour neighborhood in eastern Mosul,” he added. Mosul, the capital city of Ninewa, lies 405 km north of Baghdad. The original city of Mosul stands on the west bank of the Tigris River, opposite the ancient biblical city of Nineveh on the east bank, but the metropolitan area has now grown to encompass substantial areas on both banks, with five bridges linking the two sides. Despite having an amount of Kurdish population, it does not form part of the area controlled by the Kurdistan Regional Government Kurdistan RegionG).
