2 wanted men arrested west of Makhmour

ARBIL / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi army forces arrested on Thursday two wanted men affiliated with the al-Naqshabandiya Group in Makhmour, according to an army source. “Iraqi army forces arrested on Thursday (Sept. 24) two wanted men of al-Naqshabandiya group on the Makhour-al-Qayara highway, west of Makhmour,” the source told Iraqi News. He pointed out that the two men are residents of the Sinjar suburb, and that they committed sabotages against civilians and security forces. He noted that the arrest operation relied on an intelligence tip-off. Al-Naqshabandiya is a group that introduces itself as an Islamic spiritual dogmatic organization, but its ideologies changed into ones of armed struggle against the occupation forces. Makhmour is one of the disputed areas between the central government in Baghdad and the Kurdistan Regional Government Kurdistan RegionG). It is administratively affiliated with Ninewa province and lies 68 km southwest of Arbil, the capital city of the Kurdistan region, which lies 362 km northeast of Baghdad. SH (P) 1
