20 wanted, suspects detained in Kirkuk

KIRKUK / IraqiNews.com: Joint forces arrested on Tuesday 20 wanted and suspected gunmen in separate areas in Kirkuk, while a contractor’s body was found in the southwestern part of the city, according to a senior police officer. “Joint forces launched security operations in Kirkuk, where they arrested 13 wanted men, in addition to seven suspected gunmen,” Brigadier Sarhad Qader told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The forces consist of the 15th brigade of the Iraqi army and the 1st brigade of the Peshmerga forces, backed by U.S. troops,” he explained, noting that the operations have been implemented in six villages in Tarkalan district and the industrial neighborhood in south of Kirkuk. “The body of a contractor was found in al-Khadraa neighborhood region, southwestern Kirkuk,” the officer said.
