4 wounded in car bomb blast in Mosul

NINEWA / IraqiNews.com: Four people, including two Kurdish asayesh personnel, were wounded in a car bomb blast northwest of Mosul on Thursday, a police source in Ninewa said. “A roadside parked car rigged with explosives went off near an asayesh patrol in the district of Zammar, northwest of Mosul, leaving two personnel and two civilians near the blast scene wounded,” the source told Iraqi News. Mosul, the capital city of the restive province of Ninewa, lies 405 km north of Baghdad. Asayesh or Asayish (Kurdish for security) is a Kurdish organization, created in September 1993. It is referred to as an “intelligence agency”, “security force”,”security service”, “security police”, “secret service”, “secret police”, or just “Kurdish police”. Related to Iraqi Kurdistan region president Massoud Barazani, it also acts under the command of the Kurdish National Assembly (parliament) and the Kurdistan Regional Government Kurdistan RegionG).
