6 al-Qaeda gunmen killed in Makhmour

NINEWA / IraqiNews.com: Six al-Qaeda gunmen were killed and one soldier was wounded on Monday in clashes between Iraqi army and gunmen in south of Makhmour district, an army source said. “A number of al-Qaeda gunmen attacked an army’s checkpoint near Bayoula village, south of Makhmour on Monday afternoon (Feb. 8),” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. “Six gunmen were killed and one soldier was wounded in the clashes,” the source added. He gave no more details. Makhmour is one of the disputed areas between the central government in Baghdad and the Kurdistan Regional Government Kurdistan RegionG).
