Karbala-Human KARBALA / IraqiNews.com: Six senior officers and 128 policemen were referred to investigation for violating human rights, the governor of Karbala said on Tuesday. Speaking at a festival held by the ministry of human rights in Karbala on the occasion of the International Human Rights Day, attended by IraqiNews.com, Uqeil al-Khazaali called to combat those who violate the human rights, because such rights should not be violated in the new Iraq, otherwise there is no need for the change. “A total of six senior officers and 128 policemen were referred to investigation for violating human rights during their work,” he added. “The local government is seeking to be the first who call for protecting human rights,” al-Khazaali said, noting that it will not allow for anyone to violate them. Karbala celebrated today the International Human Rights Day. Human Rights Day is celebrated annually across the world on 10 December. The date was chosen to honour the United Nations General Assembly’s adoption and proclamation, on 10 December 1948, of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), the first global enunciation of human rights.
