Abbott said in a press statement that ”he will leave the area of Arnhem Land in the Northern Territory to Darwin, where the troops will leave to be deployed in Iraq as a part of an international coalition to deal with the jihadists of the Islamic State.”

Abbott added that “the Royal Australian Air Force handed the fourth batch of weapons to the government forces and their allies in Erbil in northern Iraq.”
