7 wanted persons captured in Basra

BASRA / IraqiNews.com: Security forces in Basra captured on Sunday seven wanted persons, one of them on charges of involvement in terrorist acts, during search raids all over the province, according to a local police source. “Police forces in Basra launched search raids in different areas of the province, arresting one on terrorist charges and six on other criminal scores,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. “A camera and a gun were seized in the possession of the person who was arrested on terrorist charges,” he added. “The raiding force also seized two unlicensed vehicles,” he said. The oil-rich port city of Basra, Iraq’s only outlet to waterways, lies 590 km south of the Iraqi capital Baghdad. AmR (P) 1
