8 arrested, arms seized in Basra

BASRA / IraqiNews.com: Police forces in Basra arrested eight wanted men and seized a large amount of light weapons in a series of search raids launched in different parts of the province, according to a Basra police source on Saturday. “The Province’s police forces have launched 13 operations in different parts of the province, detaining 5 suspects on charges of involvement in terrorist operations, along with three other men wanted on criminal charges,” the police source told IraqiNews.com news agency. He said the police forces have succeeded in confiscating a quantity of light weapons and an unlicensed vehicle.
