8 people killed, wounded in bomb blast in southern Baghdad

( Baghdad – A source in the Iraqi Ministry of Interior announced on Wednesday, that eight people had been either killed or wounded in a bomb blast in southern Baghdad.

The source said in a press statement obtained by, “This morning, a bomb exploded near Alwa Rasheed in Abu Deshir neighborhood in Dawra area in southern Baghdad, killing one person and wounding seven others.”

The source, who requested anonymity, added, “A security force rushed to the area and transferred the wounded to a nearby hospital for treatment and the dead body to the forensic medicine department, while cordoned off the area of the incident and barred approaching it.”
