Bodies of young man, woman found in Kut

WASSIT / IraqiNews.com: Policemen found two unidentified bodies of a young man and a young woman in the area of al-Ghabat, eastern Kut city, on Tuesday, a police source in Wassit province said. “The bodies, lying not more than 15 meters away from each other, showed signs of having been shot,” the source told IraqiNews.com, adding investigations are underway to track down the culprits. A Shiite province, Wassit, 180 km south of Baghdad, is in the east of the country. Its name comes from the Arabic word meaning “middle,” as it lies along the Tigris about midway between Baghdad and Basra. Its major cities include the capital, al-Kut, and al-Hayy. Prior to 1976 it was known as Kut Province. AmR (P) 1
