Urgent – 20 IA soldiers killed, injured in Baghdad

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) 20 Iraqi Army soldiers were killed and injured due to an armed attack in northern Baghdad.

Security source mentioned to IraqiNews.com on Thursday that ”Unidentified gunmen opened fire targeting an Iraqi Army checkpoint in Masood village within Meshahda area (30 KM) to the north of Baghdad,” noting that “The armed attack resulted in killing ten soldiers and injuring ten others.”

The source added “The gunmen managed to flee after the attack while the Army forces cordoned the explosion scene searching for the attackers.”

The source concluded by saying that ”The Army forces transported the dead bodies of the victims to the morgue and the injured soldiers to the hospital for treatment.” \
