Car bomb explodes near Sacred Heart Church in Baghdad

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Several policemen were either killed or injured when a car bomb exploded near (Sacred Heart) Church in Baghdad.

Security source stated to Iraqi News IraqiNews.com on Sunday “The car bomb, which was parked near the Sacred Heart Church, exploded targeting police patrol in Karrada area of central Baghdad,” noting that “The explosion resulted in killing a policeman and injuring two other elements of the patrol.”

The source added “The explosion also resulted in injuring two civilians who were accidentally near the explosion place.”

The source pointed out that ”The explosion caused material damage to some buildings and vehicles which were nearby the explosion,” noting that “The police forces transported the dead body of the victim to the morgue and the injured persons to the hospital for treatment.”
