CBI attack kills, wounds 10 security elements – spokesman

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Five Iraqi security elements were killed and five others were wounded during the attempt to robber the Central Bank of Iraq (CBI) last Sunday, spokesman of the Baghdad Operations Command (BOC) said on Tuesday. “Five security elements were killed and five Iraqi army soldiers were injured in the attack on the CBI,” Maj. General Qassem Atta told IraqiNews.com news agency. “Security forces killed seven gunmen in the clashes that flared up in front of the CBI,” he added. “The BOC will hold a press conference on Wednesday (June 16) to present a video, which asserts that the attackers did not enter the bank and the forces managed to kill all of them in front of the bank,” he noted. The CBI security chief had said on Sunday (June 13) that all seven gunmen who attacked the Central Bank of Iraq were killed, adding the incident also left 16 of the bank employees killed or wounded SH (P) 2
