Explosives, ammunitions seized in Amara

MISSAN / IraqiNews.com: Police forces on Tuesday seized amounts of explosives and ammunitions in separate areas of Amara, the director of the anti-explosives department in Missan said. “The forces managed to seize 12 bombs, five landmines, eight hand grenades, and amounts of TNT in separate areas of the province,” Colonel Missan Sabieh told IraqiNews.com. “They also found different amounts of ammunitions, including mortar shells and missiles,” he added. Missan is a Shiite province. Its capital city is al-Amara. Sitting on the Tigris River, Amara lies 390 km south of Baghdad. Missan, in the east of the country, bordering Iran, is home to many marsh Arabs. SH (P)/SR 1
