Fire breaks out in Basra market, causes human losses:

BASRA / IraqiNews.com: A fire broke out in a commercial building in southern Iraq’s Basra city on Sunday, causing large material losses and human harms, a security source in Basra‘s Council said. “A fire broke out in a commercial building in Basra‘s ‘Kuwait Street’ on Sunday morning, burning several trade stores and shops,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency,” he said, adding that the fire had also caused suffocation of a number of civilians, who were treated in a nearby hospital. The security source also said that Basra‘s civil defense and security bodies, “had managed to control the fire, beginning an investigation for the reason of the fire.” Basra, the center of the province carrying the same name, is 590 kms to the south of Baghdad.
