George Bush: Rise of ISIS is the only regret of 2003 Iraq invasion

(IraqiNews.com) On Sunday, the former U.S. President George W. Bush declared that the rise of the so-called Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) is his only regret about invading Iraq in 2003.

In an interview with CBS News Network, George Bush said he believed he had taken the right decision to take over Iraq in 2003 and outset Saddam Hussein. But he added, “My regret is that a violent group of people has risen up again. This is ‘Al-Qaeda plus’… They need to be defeated. And I hope we do; I hope the strategy works.”

The former U.S. President taped the interview for CBS ahead of the release of his new book ’41: A Portrait Of My Father’; a biography about his father George H.W. Bush.
