IA Officer assassinated in Baghdad

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) An officer of the Iraqi Army was assassinated in western Baghdad.

Security source mentioned to IraqiNews.com on Monday that ”Unidentified gunmen stormed a house belong to a Lieutenant Colonel of the Iraqi Army, at an early hour of Monday morning, and opened fire by silenced weapons, killing him immediately in Abu Gharib district (25 km) to the west of Baghdad.”

The source added “The gunmen managed to flee after the attack while the police transported the dead body of the victim to the morgue and launched an investigation over the attack.”
