IED explosion targets blacksmith shop south of Baghdad

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) A blacksmith was killed while his son was injured when an Improvised Explosive Device IED exploded inside his shop in southern Baghdad on Thursday.

Security source mentioned to IraqiNews.com on Thursday that ”The IED which exploded, inside the shop of the blacksmith in Mahmudiya district (30 KM) to the south of Baghdad, resulted in killing the owner of the shop and injuring his son seriously.”

The source added “The police transported the dead body of the blacksmith to the morgue and his son was sent to the hospital for treatment,” noting that “The explosion caused material damage to the blacksmith shop.”
