IED goes off in Tikrit [10/30/2013]

Salah-il-Din, Tikrit (IraqiNews.com) An Iraqi Army officer was killed and three members of his family were wounded when an Improvised Explosive Device exploded to the east of Tikrit city.Security source reported to IraqiNews.com ”The IED, which was emplaced on a roadside, exploded targeting a civil vehicle driven by an Army officer with a Captain rank in Sada village of eastern Tikrit city, the capital of Salah-il-Din province.””The Army officer was immediately killed due to the explosion which wounded his wife and two children who were in his vehicle,” the source added.”The security forces attended the explosion location transporting the officer’s dead body to the morgue and his wounded family members to the hospital for treatment,” the source concluded.
