IED rocks IIP building in Ninewa

NINEWA /IraqiNews.com: An improvised explosive device (IED) on Thursday detonated inside an Iraqi Islamic Party (IIP) building in southern Mosul city, but no casualties were reported, according to a security source. “On Thursday, an explosion ripped through a small IIP building that is still under construction in al-Hod village, al-Qayara district, causing no casualties,” the source told IraqiNews.com. The explosion was caused by an improvised explosive device (IED) planted by unknown gunmen inside the building, according to the source. Mosul, the capital city of Ninewa, lies 405 km north of Baghdad. The original city of Mosul stands on the west bank of the Tigris River, opposite the ancient biblical city of Nineveh on the east bank, but the metropolitan area has now grown to encompass substantial areas on both banks, with five bridges linking the two sides.
