3 IEDs explode in Kirkuk

Kirkuk (IraqiNews.com) Three Improvised Explosive Devices exploded in Kirkuk province on Sunday.

A statement by the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan received by IraqiNews.com cited “The first IED exploded targeting the motorcade of a police station’s Commander near the Department of Kirkuk Traffic Police,” noting that “The explosion resulted in injuring the Commander, Colonel Dler Hasan and killing one of his gaurds as well as injuring another.”

“The second IED went off targeting a police patrol injuring five among the patrol elements in addition to two civilians at Baghdad road,” the source added.

“The third explosion took place in al-Askari neighborhood without leaving casualties or material damage,” the source concluded.
