Iraq receives 2 military vessels from Italy

BASRA / IraqiNews.com: The Iraqi Navy has received two military vessels from Italy as part of a contract signed between the two countries, an official spokesperson said on Sunday. “The two ships have landed at Umm Qasr Port following a 31-day voyage,” a spokesperson for the Iraqi Navy, Mikky al-Yasseri, told IraqiNews.com news agency. The ships will be used to protect Iraqi ports and regional waters, Yasseri noted. The Shiite city of Basra lies 590 km south of the Iraqi capital Baghdad. SS (P) 1
