Iraqi army’s 4th division commander to be replaced

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Informed source revealed issuing order to replace commander of fourth division of the Iraqi army, Maj. Gen. Hamid Mohamed Gumar.

The source told Iraqi News “The decision of replacing the 4th army division’s commander came on background of the security breaches that took place in the areas under his responsibility,” noting “Gumar is responsible for all areas of Salah il-Din province except the towns.”

The source added “there are news about nominating a number of security leaders to replace Gumar, among them is the Maj. Gen. Ahmed al-Ibadi, commander of Iraq army’s 6th division.”

Salah il-Din witnessed several security breaches over the past period including Sulaiman Bek security crisis.
