Iraqi army says arrested Special Groups leader near Hilla

BABEL / IraqiNews.com: A force from the 31st Brigade arrested a Special Groups leader hiding inside a house south of the city of al-Hilla on Tuesday, according to an Iraqi army source. “Iraqi soldiers, acting upon intelligence tips, raided a house in al-Kifl district, (40 km) south of Hilla, capturing a leader of the Special Groups and seizing light arms in his possession,” the source told IraqiNews.com. The U.S. army lends the name Special Groups to operatives it accuses of receiving support and training from Iran to wage attacks against Iraqi and U.S. forces. Hilla, the capital city of Babel province, lies 100 km south of Baghdad. AmR (P) 2
