Iraqi president praises security cooperation with U.S.

Baghdad ( – Iraqi President Barham Salih on Tuesday stressed the importance of security and military cooperation between his country and the U.S. in the fight against terrorism and extremism.

Salih made the remarks during a meeting with U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) Commander General Kenneth F. McKenzie at As-Salam Palace in Baghdad, Al Sumaria News quoted Salih’s office as saying in a statement.

The two sides discussed the latest political and security developments at the Arab and international levels, the statement read.

During the meeting, Salih stressed the importance of mitigating regional conflicts, promoting joint action and protecting regional and international security.

McKenzie, meanwhile, stressed that the U.S. will continue to support Iraq during its war against terrorism.

  1. Terrorism continues in Iraq because US conspirators are causing the terrorism, and using
    terrorism as an excuse to continue occupation of Iraq and it’s oil fields. Barham Saleh is a Kurd
    and he sounds like he wants US to remain in Iraq indefinitely. US and Kurds in Iraq cannot be trusted
    and this situation may require the likes of general Haftar of Libya to get rid of US NATO occupation
    of Iraq. Arabs must start to take back their land under US-Zionist-NATO occupation.
