Iraqi security forces nab Qaeda-linked group financer in Baghdad-MNF

BAGHDAD/IraqiNews.com: U.S. army on Friday announced Iraqi security forces arrested a financer for Qaeda-linked group in Baghdad. “Baghdad National Emergency Response Brigade arrested a known Islamic State of Iraq financier on a Ministry of Interior warrant Oct. 29,” said a U.S. statement received by IraqiNews.com. The announcement noted the detainee accused of receiving and weapons to be used against U.S.-Iraq security forces. The U.S. army believed the detainee “a Mufti who gives military orders to ISI subordinates in the Mansour and Baghdad area”. “The suspected criminal has been implicated in weapons trafficking and improvised explosive device attacks against Iraqi and Coalition forces as well as local citizens,” the announcement added. The self-proclaimed Islamic State of Iraq is a mantra for a number of Sunni armed groups. Al-Qaeda in Iraq is one of its major founders. AM(S) 1
