Iraq’s former Army officer assassinated in Kirkuk

KIRKUK / IraqiNews.com: An officer in the former Iraqi Army has been assassinated by unknown gunmen in northern Iraq ’s oil-rich city of Kirkuk on Monday, an Iraqi police officer said.   “A group of unknown gunmen have assassinated Brig-General, Abdul-Wahid Attiya, with a gun fixed with silencer in the city of Kirkuk on Monday,” the police officer told IraqiNews.com news agency.   He said the victim was driving his personal car in southern Kirkuk , when a group of unknown armed men opened fire on him, killing him on the spot.   SKH (PT)
