ISF defeat ISIL attack on Ramadi

Anbar (IraqiNews.com) Iraqi security forces supported by Combined Joint Task Force Operation Inherent Resolve successfully defeated an Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant attack on Ramadi in the Anbar region of Iraq March 13, task force officials reported today.

The Iraqi forces were simultaneously attacked in several locations in Ramadi and the surrounding areas with small-arms fire, vehicle-borne improvised explosive devices and indirect fire, officials said.

Iraqi air and ground security forces responded in force and successfully defeated the attacks, said officials, noting ISIL had gained no ground, officials added. /End/
