ISIL elements ambushed north of Babel

Babel (IraqiNews.com) Security official from the Iraqi Army 8th Division assured that a group from terrorists affiliated to the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant have been ambushed in Jurf al-Sakher district (45 km) to the north of Hilla city on Monday evening.

The source clarified to IraqiNews.com “The terrorists were trying to sneak through the areas flooded with Euphrates River’s water in Farsiya area within Jurf al-Sakher district but they entered into an area which was prepared by the terrorist groups as an ambush for the security forces by setting bombs inside a house and EIDs,” noting that “The bombs and the EIDs exploded targeting the terrorists themselves killing 19 of them.”

The security forces cordoned off the explosion area to confront more attacks for the terrorist groups, the source concluded.

It is worth to mention that ISIL terrorists have flooded the areas in Jurf al-Sakher district to slow the progress of the security forces in these areas. /End /
