ISIS bans Prophet’s birthday celebrations in Mosul

(IraqiNews.com) On Friday, according to a local source in Nineveh province, ISIS banned the birth of the Prophet Muhammed celebrations, calling it as “a heresy and a deviance”, adding that the organization threatened to punish clerics who go against the instructions.

The source said in an interview for IraqiNews.com, “The ISIS organization issued today instructions and orders to the imams of the mosques in Mosul to ban the celebration Prophet Muhammed’s birthday,” explaining that “It described the celebrations as “heresy and deviance”.”

The source, who requested anonymity, added, “The organization warned imams about the violation of its instructions and threatened them with punishment.”
