Jordanian warplanes carried out sorties at Iraq border to deter ISIL invasion

(IraqiNews.com) On Tuesday morning Jordanian military sources reported that fighter jets belonging to the Jordanian armed forces carried out air missions near the border with Iraq, in the east, after it came under control of militants of the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant on Sunday.

The source, who preferred not to be identified, said that “the fighter jets were intended to send a message, to the militant groups that stand on the other side, that penetrating the border is impossible.”

The source pointed out that the military forces, and aircraft are ready to “deter any infiltration from Iraq to Jordan with appropriate force.”

This comes at a time when the military forces of Jordan raised its presence along the border with Iraq, where stationed rocket launchers, guns and various mechanisms fighters at different places along the border, according to the same source.

On Monday Iraqi and Jordanian sources announced the control of the Iraqi Sunni tribes on the crossing “Trebil” border with Jordan, after the withdrawal of the Iraqi army completely .while the elements of the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant announced on their page in the social networking site (Twitter) that the Iraqi-Jordanian border under their control.
