Khalis mayor arrested

DIALA / IraqiNews.com: A joint force from the Iraqi police and coalition forces on Tuesday arrested the mayor of al-Khalis district, north of Baaquba city, according to a police source in Diala province. “The joint force captured al-Khalis mayor Uday al-Khadran in al-Kubat, the main town in al-Khalis, (15 km) north of Baaquba,” the source told IraqiNews.com. The source did not give more details about reasons for Khadran’s detention. Meanwhile, the province’s police chief Brig. Abdelhussein al-Shimari told IraqiNews.com “130 families of the interior ministry martyrs were honored with a sum of 3.750 million Iraqi dinars”.
