Kidnapped kid freed in Samarra

SALAH AL-DIN / IraqiNews.com: A nine-year-old child was freed a few hours after he was kidnapped in Samarra city, a local security source said on Monday. “In cooperation with Samarra operations command, support forces in the city raided the kidnappers’ hideout in al-Ishaqi area (23 km southwest of Samarra and freed the child,” Majeed Mahmoud told IraqiNews.com news agency. “An exchange of gunfire took place with the four kidnappers, who fled to an unknown destination,” Mahmoud added. Samarra lies 120 km north of Baghdad, while Tikrit, the capital city of Salah al-Din, is 175 km north of Baghdad. SS (P) 1
