Kurdsat announcer commits suicide

SULAIMANIYA / IraqiNews.com: A female announcer in the Kurdish satellite channel Kurdsat shot herself inside her house in the city of Sulaimaniya on Monday, a source from the channel said. “Laila Ali worked today as usual and in the afternoon returned home in Zarkata neighborhood, northern Sualimaniya, where she shot herself with a gun,” the source told IraqiNews.com. “The reasons behind the suicide are not yet clear, but investigations are ongoing,” he added. The Kurdsat is broadcasting from Sulaimaniya, 364 kilometers north of the Iraqi capital Baghdad. Born in 1971, Ali started her broadcasting career at the Khak TV and later at Kurdsat, both based in Sulaimaniya.   AmR (P)/SR 1
