(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi announced on Wednesday the removal of the commander of Salah al-Din Operations Lieutenant General Abdul-Wahab al-Saadi from his position and the appointment of Major General Juma Anad al-Jubouri as his successor.

The spokesman of Abadi’s office Saad al-Hadithi said in an interview for IraqiNews.com “Lt. Gen. Abdul-Wahab al-Saadi had been removed from his position as Salahuddin’s operations and Major General Juma Anad al-Jubouri has been appointed instead of him,” noting that, “The appointment comes on the basis of the terms of reference granted to Abadi as the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces. ”

Al-Hadithi added that, “this also comes in the context of strengthening the capacity of the Iraqi armed forces and the development of its ability.”

It is noteworthy that the last period has seen a series of changes in the security and military positions of leadership, while hundreds of officers have been set to retirement.
