Maliki’s office director survived assassination attempt in Baghdad

(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – A security source in the province of Baghdad announced on Monday, that the Information Director of Nuri al-Maliki’s office survived an assassination attempt in central Baghdad.

The source said in an interview for IraqiNews.com, “Unidentified gunmen attacked a car carrying Hisham al-Rikabi, Nuri al-Maliki’s media office director, while passing in central Baghdad, without causing any casualties,” adding that “al-Rikabi was not harmed.”

The source, who asked anonymity, added that “security forces cordoned off the scene and carried out an inspection operation in search of the perpetrators, who fled to an unknown destination.”
