Mayor injured in southern Mosul

Nineveh (IraqiNews.com) The Mayor of al-Bakir village in Shura district was injured on last Tuesday night.

Security source stated to IraqiNews.com “Unidentified gunmen opened fire, targeting Mahmoud Suleiman Jaafar during his visit to one of his relatives,” noting that “the attack resulted in injuring the Mayor in his leg.”

The source added “The injured Mayor was transferred to the hospital for treatment.”

“The security forces blocked the attack area and launched a search-raid,” the source concluded.
