MoI announces Iraq’s readiness to respond to any Syrian attack

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Ministry of Interior announced that its forces are “ready to respond on any attack by the Syrian side.”

A statement by the Ministry received by IraqiNews.com cited “The MoI strongly condemns the attack that targeted the citizens in Qaim district of Anbar province where four missiles were launched from the Syrian side and resulted in killing and injuring some people.”

“Despite the fact that Iraq took a neutral stance towards the Syrian crisis, our forces are ready to confront any attack in case such attacks were repeated in the future,” the statement added.

Earlier, security source stated to IraqiNews.com that “A child was killed and three civilians were injured due to mortar shells launched from the Syrian territories hitting a house in Qaim district.”
